Who is Gringo Nick?
I didn’t realize it until lately, but by moving to Paraguay I’ve gone Galt.
Like the titans of industry in Ayn Rand’s beloved novel Atlas Shrugged, I was also fed up.
I was tired of living in a society that viewed productive and enterprising people as evil.
I was tired of an incompetent and overreaching government taking control of my life
I was tired of men and women, Republicans and Democrats constantly being pitted against one another to distract them from the real problem
I was tired of being scared to go to the doctor due to the insane medical costs in the United States
I was tired of high taxes
Lastly, I was tired of a rapidly rising cost of living and the goal posts of financial independence drifting further away every year, no matter how hard I worked.
So like John Galt, I left.
I realized that by staying I was only feeding the very system that was enslaving me.
I took my capital, and productive capability with me to seek out a place where it’d be appreciated. And to surround myself with others who feel the same way.
I’ve voted with my feet and my wallet, because those have become the most effective form of voting in the modern era...
Paraguay is far from perfect.
It is corrupt, lacking infrastructure, hot, and landlocked.
Despite those flaws, it may just be the closest thing that we have to Galt’s Gulch.
Income tax ranges from 0% to 10%
If you don’t harm others, the government will leave you alone
You can get by on far less than in the West and be completely self sustaining
Working a traditional job becomes optional
There is an entire community of foreigners who feel the same way that you do
By taking the leap and setting up a base in Paraguay, you are saying no to the rat race, political interests, loss of rights and freedoms, and an unfulfilled life where “someday when you are old and frail you can retire and be free” then either slowly die in front of the TV or lose your life savings to the U.S. healthcare system and casinos.
Instead you could wake up each morning as a free person, a free person in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s etc. You don’t have to wait until the end to…
Have complete control of your time.
Afford to raise a family and actually be able to spend time with them
Keep what you earn
Go on adventures
And enjoy the finer things in life.
By joining me in going Galt in Paraguay, you are rejecting your old life and choosing a new life of freedom and adventure.
Even if you don’t want to move to Paraguay, then you still need to get residency to lock in your place here, and free travel throughout South America.
Each year that goes by it is getting harder and harder. It is becoming more expensive, and the doors keep closing.
Your government doesn't want you to be free.
They do not want you to go Galt.
Like a toxic partner, they need you more than you need them, and they will try to cling onto you until the end.
Be strong and walk away (or at least have a plan b).
You are not in this alone, let me help you get residency
Or if you are still looking for answers talk to me, and let’s find the best solution for you.
Until next time,
-Gringo Nick
